From the Hannahs

Hi everyone! We just finished rehearsal, so now for an update. After our two successful nursing home visits, Pedro brought some of us ( those who were interested) to a cave up in the mountains where the Christians used to hide out to pray. During the Christian persecution  here in Italy the Christians used to flee to the mountains in fear that they would be found elsewhere. The cave we visited was the original place where they would meet. It's really incredible because they would have to walk two-three hours just to get there.  Getting in the cave was quite exciting as we had to hike a little ways and then crawl on all fours to get inside. Once inside, the cave opened up and it was quite large. Pedro said that 20-60 people would meet there, I'm not sure how often, but it was incredible to be witnessing such history. I think it was a great reminder to all of us just how lucky we are to be able to practice our religion freely without fear of death. After visiting the cave we attempted to hike a little farther to a monument which represents the place where the Christians decided to translate the bible to Italian.  Because we were on a bit of a time crunch we didn't have time to find it, but the view we got was incredible. We finished out day with an American dinner, chicken and mashed potatoes and our final rehearsal!! - Hannah bush.

Hey everyone! Today we danced at two nursing homes. It was really cool to minister to them and they seemed to love it.   After this we had the choice to go caving. I didn't go because I don't like getting dirty but for the people who did go seemed to really enjoy it.  I think some of them even got some pictures. Overall we had a great day and  can't wait to see what lies ahead!!                -Hannah miller.
